Who can volunteer?

  • Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age and those under 18 years of age must provide a signed waiver and be accompanied by a parent or guardian

  • Group volunteering is encouraged!

  • Individuals and groups can sign up for one service, or for a regular shift each week or month

  • Volunteers will be trained and supervised by Provision Community Restaurant Staff

When can you Volunteer?

  • Volunteers for dinner service are needed Wednesday-Friday between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m daily 

  • Volunteers for breakfast service are needed on Saturdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Daily volunteers are needed Monday through Friday to help with food preparation, cleaning and organizing in both the kitchen and dining spaces 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Shifts are 2.5 hours (or more depending on availability)

What Roles are needed?

  • Host/Greeter - welcoming guests and directing them through dining experience from check-in to making contributions

  • Dishwasher - washing dishes during and after meal service   

  • Server - family style service (large platters and bowls served and refilled as needed)   

  • Busser - clearing dishes during and after meal service  

  • Food Prep - chopping, dicing, and slicing. Preparing various doughs, stocks, and soups 

Additional Volunteer Tasks

  • Set-up:

    • Set tables for dinner service

    • Prepare service stations with serving utensils, extra silverware, napkins, etc

    • Prepare beverages (coffee, water) for service

  • Clean-up:

    • Clear and wipe tables and chairs

    • Sweep/Mop dining area

    • Clean all dishes, cooking and preparation surfaces, sink and equipment

    • Clean restrooms, lobby, and other common areas

    • Take garbage and recyclables to proper disposal area
